The grades are divided into three main grades of timber. All of it is graded to Australian Standards. The first grade is called the select grade. Select grade are timbers which has minimal marks. It looks unblemished and provides a sleek effect in your home. Character grade is a grade of timber that has features such as knots, gum veins, branch and insect markings. This kind of grade retains the naturalness of the timber. It is more affordable than the other grades. Last grade is known as the standard grade. Traditional tongue and groove strip flooring is 19mm thick and is laid on bearers and joists. Overlay tongue and groove flooring is 12mm thick and approximately 80mm wide. Overlay timber flooring is smaller and has a manageable length. It is a great use in apartment renovations. Decking timber is available at 65mm, 85mm and 135mm, by 19 to 25mm.
